If you are finding the neck on your guitar uncomfortable and tiring to play it might be because the neck profile is too chunky for your hand. A good solution is to have the back of the neck reprofiled. The most common reprofile I do is to a soft V (Eric Clapton style) I normally refinish the neck in nitro.
Another service I offer is fingerboard reprofiling .
I have carried out a few of these on 7.25" radius vintage fingerboards where bending strings choke out unless the action is high. Increasing the radius to 9" or 10" or 10" to 16" compound radius gives no choking with a lower action. This process involves a refret and a refinish on maple fingerboards
